Siobhan began dancing at age 5 and took regular ballet, jazz, and tap lessons throughout childhood and into her teens developing an understanding of western classical dance technique and choreography.   Her studies continued in college as a modern dance major at the University of Montana.  An East-West College of Healing Arts graduate in 1997, it was at this time that her passion for Oriental dance awakened.    Siobhan’s dedication to artistry and fitness has continued through completing several training programs and academic study trips to Egypt, Turkey and in the USA.  She attends international workshops and seminars to enrich her knowledge and skill of Middle Eastern dance, music and culture with renowned artists.

Siobhan recently completed the ISOC 160 hour Oriental Dancer and Teacher Training Development Program by Prof. Dr. Hassan Khalil in Cairo, Egypt and Brussels, Belgium earning the title, ‘Specialty Teacher for Oriental/Middle Eastern Dance and Egyptian Folklore. She is currently studying in a 2 year language program in Modern Standard Arabic at Oregon State University as part of her BA in Social Science.   In November 2011, Siobhan is featured as a yoga and dance instructor in Keti Sharif’s newest Pulse8 Bellydance Fitness, ‘Elements,’ instructional DVD filmed in LA promoting dance fitness.

As a health care professional of over 13 years, she has undertaken over 1,000 hours of continuing education classes in  anatomy, kinesiology, body mechanics, preventative self-care, healing modalities including acupressure, Thai bodywork and second-degree Reiki.  Helping inspire others to build and maintain health and fitness, and enhance their creativity is her primary aspiration as a certified instructor and healing arts practitioner.

Siobhan has been teaching  weekly classes and workshops  in Yoga, Partner Thai Bodywork, Pilates, and Oriental dance since Sept. 1998 and is Director of Galactivate Studio since Jan 2005.  In the summer 2010, she began instructing her newest  fitness format, Fit Bellies.

As an award-winning performer,  Siobhan shares with audiences the beauty, joy, creative expression and healing of the dance as well as to honor the oriental dance/music, it’s rich history and our common bonds as people.   Her stagecraft infuses passionate poise and she seeks to inspire and transform her audiences with the art of this incredible dance form.   Siobhan has also produced a series of dance showcases fundraisers in service to animal welfare and humanitarian organizations.
