About Siobhan

To dance is to express communion with a universal source, and for me

is like tapping into a deep wellspring of healing, love, beauty, inspiration, light and spirit.’

2009 Ms.International Ambassador of Bellydance-3rd Runner Up

Siobhan began dancing at age 5 and took regular ballet, jazz, and tap lessons throughout childhood and into her teens developing an understanding of western classical dance technique and choreography.  Performing in student recitals, her first time on stage she tap danced to the ‘Good Ship Lolly Pop.’  A favorite place to perform as a child was her grandfather’s retirement center where she invigorated residents with her jazz choreography.

In college, she was a modern dance major at the University of Montana. The contributions of Martha Graham and Isadora Duncan to the world of dance inspired her and she was an assistant teacher for a kid’s creative movement class.

An East-West College of Healing Arts graduate in 1997, it was at this time that her passion for bellydance awakened.   Since then, Siobhan’s dedication has evolved through completing several bellydance teacher training programs and dance study trips to Egypt and Turkey.  She has attended  international workshops and seminars to enrich her knowledge and skill of middle eastern dance, music and culture with renowned natives of this dance form.

Siobhan is a Certified Yoga Instructor teaching regular classes  for over 11 years and has been Artistic Director and Certified Bellydance Instructor of Galactivate Studio since Jan 2005.

She embraces a healthy lifestyle and co-creates in health and music with her drummer/percussionist co-creator, Stoker.   Siobhan and Stoker support their community in healthy living practices, collaborate as a drummer/ dancer duet and are known to inspire audiences with their dynamic interplay.  She has also produced a number of showcase fundraisers for local animal welfare and wildlife centers.

As a performer, she has shimmied the stage with Egyptian and Turkish dance icons in Cairo, Egypt and Istanbul, Turkey.   Siobhan’s motivation to perform comes from an enthusiasm to share with audiences the beauty, joy, creative expression and healing of the dance as well as to honor the oriental dance/music, it’s rich history and our common bonds as people.   Siobhan’s stagecraft infuses passionate poise and she seeks to inspire and transform her audiences with the art of this incredible dance form.
